“Overrated!”
Apr 29, 2008 marthalena
Tripadvisor has never steered me wrong...until now!!
I have no idea why this hotel scored so highly and
I was really disappointed.
It's not a terrible hotel; it's quite serviceable
but it's a long schlep into downtown Savannah.
In a city as full of charm as Savannah, I'd rather
have a little tattered elegance in town than be 20-30
minutes away in a cookie cutter hotel.
On the plus side: it was clean, the bed was fine and
there was a nice breakfast. But the Hampton Inn in
downtown Charleston has SO MUCH MORE to offer: great
location, charming lobby, pretty courtyard, and an
even better breakfast.
If you're looking for anything other than a "good
deal" , this ain't it.

“A good
stopover”
Apr 16, 2008 Suffolk, England
We stayed here for 2 nights in order to see Savannah.
Firstly, can I say this hotel is NOT situated in Savannah,
it is about 15 miles outside, we stayed in the Hampton
Inn and Suites on the I-95, there is another Hampton
Inn & Suites in the old town off Bay Street. The
reviews caused us some problems when trying to book
the hotel, but it turned out the one in town was full.
This hotel was good, the beds were very comfortable,
everything worked, was clean & new. The pool area
was pleasant enough as was the area for breakfast.
The staff were very helpful.
It is situated in what appears to be a recently built
complex of hotels & restaurants, many being within
a short walk. It is some distance from the town itself,
therefore it is cheaper than them. We would have preferred
to have been closer to the town, but the quality of
the hotel means we would stay here again if in the
area.

“Great
hotel/great location”
Mar 30, 2008 northeast
Stayed here on our way home from FL. This is the nicest
Hampton I have stayed in. Recently renovated in an
old southern style. Great location - walking distance
to a great downtown. Really comfortable beds. All
in all, a really nice experience. Savannah is a beautiful
old city worth a night or two. Had great Greek food
down near the river at Olympia. |
