“What
did you expect for the price?”
Jun 16, 2008, Boca Raton
Rooms are not cheap in Savannah. So this location is
definitely a compromise. We stayed at this place for
2 nites and after ALL THE TAXES ($12 per night) it was
$70 per night. The good thing is it's a straight shot
out of the historic district on Oglethorpe. If you are
going to the historic district during the day and want
to avoid parking meter costs (.75 per hour), you can
catch the #14 public bus for $1 every 20 minutes right
out front of the motel and be downtown in 15 minutes.
From there you can take the shuttles for free around
town (look for the one called DOT and avoid the CAT
if you can). The room was a queen and small, but we
had a good TV, separate sink area and the shower was
clean. They definitely have some mold issues in the
building so if you're the allergic type, reconsider.
I didn't have any noise concerns and we were only 3
rooms from the road and there on a weekend. Like I said,
it's a cost vs. location compromise in Savannah when
looking for a room. |

“Good
Price, Lots of Noise”
Mar 20, 2008 Orlando, FL
I was apprehensive to book an Econo Lodge but the rooms
were clean, the staff friendly, and the price great.
The building did show signs of aging but the wireless
internet worked and I always felt safe. The close proximity
to an air-force base and their flights arriving/departing
at tree-top levels from 8:00 AM to midnight was truly
inconvenient ! We got over this by planning late nights
on the town. The breakfast was also underwhelming. May
do better to find a slightly more expensive room with
a good breakfast instead of paying more to eat out the
next morning. |

“Think
Twice”
Jul 11, 2006 Orlando, Florida
The staff was very nice and we didn't have to wait to
be checked in, however, the first room we went too had
wet towels on the bathroom floor, an open half gallon
of Orange Juice on the table and the beds had not been
made. We were moved to another room. The room was clean
but very old, in serious need of an update. There is
no pool either.
The road noise is almost unbearable when close to Abercorn
, if in the back of the hotel it may be better, no soundproofing
at all. |
